"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -- Mark Twain Welcome to SnowCycle, a website based on my interests in cycling and skiing. This website has some reports and photographs from the Spokes Sunday Bike Rides that I lead. If you're interested in coming along, we meet on the 1st Sunday of the Month at the Usher Hall, Lothian Road at 10am. Spokes is the Lothian cycle campaign, so our main efforts and activities are in the council areas of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian. I have also added some details of winter holidays I have made, as well as adding photos from these trips. I will start, from 2009, organising trips for skiers and snowboaders. If you live in Edinburgh, and want to come along (there's no joining fee!!!!), let me know. Warm Regards. Image from Trois Vallées, top of Le Grand Duc black run, February 2008. No Avalanche risk today (yellow flag!!!) Visit http://www.anjcraft.co.uk/ for handmade cards, notebooks and earrings. |

With apologies to Shakespeare (Henry V, Act 4, Scene iii), it could apply equally to cycling and skiing. |

Cyclists Ride and Chickens Run
"I have spread my dreams beneath your feet. Tread softly because you tread on my dreams." - W.B. Yeats A trip that started off looking really good, but persistant rain curtailed the ride. A complete opposite to the May Ride, it still provided some interesting experiences.. |

The Long and Windy Road
"OHANA, Means family, family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten" - Lilo and Stitch A lovely trip down to the Scottish Borders starting and ending in Edinburgh. A bit breezy, which made deciding the route to take was based on what is the less painful option. |
